The Bible is a unique and timeless collection of sacred texts, divided into books that together reveal God’s character, His relationship with humanity, and His plan for redemption. The Old Testament books lay the foundation for God’s covenant with His people. They include narratives of creation, the history of Israel, and laws that shaped the moral and spiritual life of the nation. The poetic and wisdom books, such as Psalms and Proverbs, provide encouragement, reflection, and practical guidance for daily living. The prophetic books call God’s people to faithfulness, warn of judgment, and offer hope of restoration and redemption.
The New Testament books center on the life, ministry, and redemptive work of Jesus Christ. The Gospels present His teachings, miracles, death, and resurrection, while the Acts of the Apostles recount the spread of the early Church through the power of the Holy Spirit. The Epistles offer practical and theological guidance for believers, addressing faith, conduct, and unity within the body of Christ. The book of Revelation closes the canon with a vision of God’s ultimate triumph and the promise of eternal life.
