Who we are
Our website address is: https://bibleversedaily.net/. This site is a ministry of Pastor Dave Miller, dedicated to spreading peace, love, and understanding through the Word of God.
What personal data we collect and why
- Comments: When you share your reflections on a verse, we collect the data shown in the comments form, as well as your IP address and browser user agent string. This helps us keep our community space free from spam and “noise.”
- Gravatar: An anonymized string (a hash) created from your email address may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. Once your comment is approved, your profile picture is visible to the community alongside your words.
- Media: If you upload images to our community boards, please ensure they do not contain embedded location data (EXIF GPS). This protects your physical privacy from others who might download images from the site.
- Newsletters: If you sign up for our daily verses, we collect your email address solely to send you the Word of God and ministry updates. You can “find rest” from these emails at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link.
Cookies
To make your visit as smooth as possible, we use “cookies”:
- Convenience: If you leave a comment, you may opt-in to saving your name and email. This is so you don’t have to re-type them for your next reflection. These last for one year.
- Logins: If you have an account, we set a temporary cookie to see if your browser accepts them. When you log in, we use cookies to remember your screen preferences (1 year) and login status (2 days, or 2 weeks if you click “Remember Me”).
Embedded content from other websites
Occasionally, we may share a worship song or video from another site. This embedded content behaves as if you visited that other website directly. They may collect data about you or use their own tracking cookies. We encourage you to be mindful of the privacy policies of those external platforms.
Who we share your data with
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Your data is only shared with trusted services necessary for our site to function (such as our email provider or automated spam detection).
How long we retain your data
- Comments: Reflections and their metadata are kept indefinitely so we can recognize you and automatically approve your future contributions.
- User Profiles: For registered members, we store the personal info provided in your profile. You have full control to see, edit, or delete this info at any time (except your username).
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account or have left comments, you can request an exported file of the data we hold about you. You may also request that we erase any personal data. This does not include data we are required to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
How we protect your data
We treat your data with the same care we give our own congregation. We use secure encryption (SSL) and industry-standard security protocols to prevent unauthorized access. In the unlikely event of a data breach, we will notify our community immediately and transparently.
