Job 23:6

Will he plead against me with his great power? No; but he would put strength in me.

Reflection

Job 23:6 captures Job’s confidence in God amid deep trial: “Will he plead against me with his great power? No; but he would put strength in me.” Even in the midst of suffering, Job recognizes that God is not an adversary but a source of empowerment. While human circumstances might feel overwhelming, God offers strength, endurance, and courage to face challenges beyond our natural capacity.

This verse reminds us that God’s power is not only mighty but also life-giving. He does not use His strength to crush His people; instead, He imparts strength to help us endure trials, grow in character, and trust Him more deeply.

What This Verse Expresses

God’s Strength, Not Condemnation
“Will he plead against me with his great power? No”
God’s power is not meant to destroy us but to support and sustain us. True strength comes from His presence, not from our own efforts.

Divine Empowerment in Trials
“but he would put strength in me”
Even in hardship, God enables us to persevere. His strength equips us to face trials with courage, patience, and hope.

Trust Beyond Circumstance
Job’s words reflect faith that transcends current difficulties. Trusting God means relying on His power rather than being overwhelmed by problems.

Why This Verse Matters

Job 23:6 teaches us that:

  • God’s Power is Protective and Supportive – He strengthens rather than oppresses His people.
  • Faith Thrives in Dependence – Trusting God allows us to receive His strength instead of relying solely on ourselves.
  • Endurance is a Gift – True resilience comes from God’s sustaining presence during trials.

Application for Today

This verse encourages believers to:

  1. Lean on God’s strength in times of difficulty rather than facing challenges alone.
  2. Trust that God’s power is a source of help, not condemnation.
  3. Seek His presence daily for courage, endurance, and guidance when life feels overwhelming.

Job 23:6 reassures us that God does not wield His greatness to defeat us; instead, He empowers His children, providing strength to endure, hope to sustain, and faith to flourish even amid adversity.
